Not to thread jack here, but since I am replacing my waterpump how close will i be to my t-chain? Looking at those pics and me having over 130,000miles makes me worry. If I am fairly close I think i as well will change it!!

nope. i was an idiot. i think its stock.

i replaced water pump when doing plenum....didnt do t-chain.

then i did THE TIMING GASKET, AND STILL DIDNT CHANGE IT....but mine had a slighty bit more slack then the pic, i didnt think it was to bad, and that was 10K ago....and ive done alot of mudding, and winding on the engine since then......

damn my neglagence.


and you guys didnt do TDC? just line up the punchmarks and put it in same way?

jeez I wish somebody would make a timing gear-set for these things..

I did mine @ 148k.. there was a ton of slop, but not as bad as Purples..

I'm a glutton for punishment- I did the water pump, later the plenum kit, later yet the timing chain, and then later still the FI.. go figure, right?
