Default Change of Plan; Bad news+Good News

ok im excited about this so i had to make a topic.

So me and my fiancee got alot back for taxes this year. I wanted to dump a bunch of cash into my ram, but it doesnt need all the stuff i wanted, so im going to get the bare essentials i need for it (timing chain, and harmonic balancer) This is the bad news.

The good news IM FINALLY GOING HOME!!! My girl and I are getting a house up in Maine. I finally get to get out of mass, and get the hell out of the city. i lived in Maine for 20 years, and have been living here 3 years now. I need to go back. We will be up there by March 1st. Going to get a trailer and haul all my stuff with the ol beast.

Also me and my girl are going to get married this summer .....im really excited to make her mine, go back home, hang with all my friends that ive known since i was 4....im so pumped....

Spending money on a woman instead of a truck. Geeze...

But seriously now: Congratulations man! That's some very good news and I'm happy for you. Do it up right with the one life you've got!

hey, congrats man on the marraige and all. Wish the best of luck 2 ya, enjoy maine. I've been in nebraska my whole life, and am about bored with it. I'd love to try out a place like maine, with a bit more wilderness than what i have here.

I'm confused here. So what is the bad news? Is it that you're getting married? Or is it that you cant buy crap for your truck...Which is being caused by said marriage?

thx all

and yea the bad news was that im not going to spend alot on the truck and get all the stuff i wanted.

but the wedding, well thats actually the cheapest part....we found a buissness that my girl has been talking to for a while, and they said for a ceremony and reception will cost us $1000, all we need to ensure of is food n drinks, which the guests can bring lol. but its on a hill overlooking a pond, good looking weddings they put up from what ive seen.

but I made the desicion to not spend that money on the truck. Im going to have a garage, so id like to get a nice big air compressor to start with.

As for work, I need a little more training in welding. I found a course that i will be taking up in the area i used to live/where we are moving to, and in 3 months i can be a certified weldor. My Father works at Bath Iron Works, and they build naval battleships. hes been there since he was 18, hes 50 now, his father worked there before him, so why not, ill follow those steps too.

but he told me they are hiring weldors right now for $20.65/hr, Full benifits, 401K, the works. Hes already gotten one of my friends in (his father is my dads best friend)..kids 24 years old making 20.65hr with all the benifits...cant beat it....and he told me no questions asked, once i get that certifacation, he can get me in there. and ive already welded before...i redid the frame on my 93 Nissan D21....

Hell yeah man thats awesome! That is a good price for your wedding, my wife wanted to get married on the beach in Clearwater Fl I think the entire wedding cost us 5 grand which isnt to hateful at all considering it included round trip flights from ohio and hotel, pastor, and the decor we had and wedding dress and tux, food and booze. which reminds me our ann. is coming up on the 20th time to start thinking of what to get her lol.

welding is like my job you will never run out of things to weld just like ppl wont stop driving on roads always going to be work for welders and pavement layers.. Congrats for job prospect
