Hey guys,
I am pretty sure I am in need of a heater core in my 2000 ram 1500
I do seem to be loosing coolant. and also my a/c leaks out freon some where.
But I wanted to ask before I had the core replaced., The only leak I have noticed is my damn carpet in wet under the drivers side floor mat, ,I thought a bad heater core would get the other side wet??

 

sounds like you got a problem with your condenser, when my heater core went, all the coolant came out of the passenger side floor vent.

 

I did notice one morning I was going down the road and looked like smoke coming very slowly rolling out of my vents.. I turned on the fan and is disapated but did smell sweet.. like anti freeze,, but my passenger side floor is NOT wet.. drivers side is.

 

Pressure test the cooling system. See where the coolant is actually going.....
