Well the way I see it , it needs paint and I need to attack the rust before it gets worse . Good Paint will run around $2000 and the first time I go in the woods it's gonna look like hell . $3000 is a New truck payment for 6 months , and as long as I replace the rust with new metal and prep it well I should never have to paint it ever again . I do not plan on selling it ever as it is my woods truck and the Jeep is the daily driver. I'll keep you posted once I get started . Should be mid summer . Gonna Be Badass.

I just clicked on this thread, I did the same thing 5 years ago. Turned out great, you won't have to worry about scratches!

i did the whole lower half of my truck, and fenders (after i fixed the rust spots) with spray-on rustoleum bed liner........i scuffed the surface by handsanding...washed it...taped it all off...primed it with 2 coats....bed liner 3 coats....no offense to the above truck, but mine didnt come out as choppy or thick asthat truck, but it looks awesome, and ive been offroading and kicked up rocks at it and it hasnt chipped...i armor all it, and it looks brand new.....cost me about $50 so far, and half my truck is painted.

the other side is done as well.

Looks pretty good, I want do do the entire truck and never do it again . I think Line X will be much tougher in the long run . He is also going to topcoat it so it's shiny and keep my custom stripes . I've done the body and paint once already and only want to do it one last time . He said he would even do my roll bars , bushwacker flares , front and rear bumpers . He told me it would be around 300 lbs of product by the time he's done ! If I wanted good fuel mileage I would have bought a Prius I guess .

cost- about 2 grand, holding up- excellent. If I spray it with tire cleaner, it looks brand new.
