Off Topic: 94 Nissan Quest Tranny Probs...
buddy has a 94 Nissan Quest with the 3.0L engine....
well latly he has been loosing gears, but they would come back eventually...and the torque convertor sounds like it is spinning dry....
Also sometime when putting it in N, it would be Drive sometimes.
Other day it lost all the gears, and the tranny was loud, and the fluid was high up the stick, and bubbly.
Ive heard it can be the Front Pump....the fluid is dirty but its not the worst, and it is up to lvl.....i tried, to take off the pan and see the filter/magnet, but two bolts are stripped to nothing, and i havent been able to get them off,
What do you guys think it could be? it only has 105K miles, and has never been beaten on.....
trying to keep hopes up, and hopefully be able to save the tranny....
i mean thats the same motor and trans that was in my maxima, and my maxima had 199K when i sold it, beatthe **** out of it the two years i had it, and it still had all original. Think it can be saved by a filter/fluid change?

Get the pan off, and see what ya got. Sounds like you are going to find old fluid, and a fair bit of sludge. I suspect that things are sticking, more than anything else...... or, the pump has gone belly up.......
There's your problem right there, bolded above.
Seriously though, I second HeyYou's comments. Have to get that pan off and see what you have. If he hasn't beat on it, but two of the bolts are stripped, I'm assuming he bought it used, and the previous owner must have beat on it. Keep us updated.

no, he got it from his grandparents when they passed away....they were the first owners, and hes the second, so its always been in his family...
And the two bolts....before i even tried to get them off, were really rusted....and basically the other bolts were 10mm, the other 2 were so rusted that i could fit a 9mm on them.....but they are chewed up pretty bad.....
but the looks of it, the van has never had a tranny flush, doesnt look like the pan has been off.....
we are going to try the bolt extractor this week and see if that will work..
