Just wanted to share...
Finally getting 4.10 gears. Had a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 with factory LSD delivered to the yard. So now I can get rid of my crappy 3.55s.

Nice. They aren't cheap to install, but at least you can get the parts cheap now.

what you do - buy a parts truck?
so it must be an offroad edition 1500?
how much did you have to give for it?
are you going to swap the entire axle assemblies, or pull the gears out and swap those.
details man, we need details.....

If it's an offroad swap axles not gears. The offroad front axle is trusses for a little extra strength.

Yes, it's the complete differentials. And yes I noticed the trusses on the front diff. But now I have run into a problem. The pinion on the rear diff has about 1 inch of rotational play from left to right. So I'm thinking just swap gears in my existing rear differential and just swap the whole axle on the front.

So it was going to be just a straight forward axle swap, but now I am leary of the play in the rear differential.

That sounds like a good plan, swapping front and rebuilding rear.
