yep, youll never get out of it what you put into it.

the way a prospective buyer sees it is those things should be fixed to begin with.

people do not go by KBB 3rd party price. They go by TRADE IN VALUE. because they know that trade in is ALL you are going to get for it if you bring it to a dealer. Expect only about 500 over trade in price.

I paid 10K for mine in 2008 and it was a 2001 with 42K miles AND still had 2 years and 50K left on the Chrysler Extended warranty (paid for a new power steering pump, transfer case and Ujoints).

You can get close to that price if you get an extended warranty on the vehicle.

Just a note: moving this to the General Discussion section for obvious reasons.

I couldn't agree with you more. I often hear people talk about how much they've "invested" in there truck. On any given investment, you get your money back and then some. On trucks, or cars for that matter, you'll rarely get back what you put into it. They're more of a liability then an investment. On a side note. $5000 is a bit to much. I'd offer $3500, $3800 tops.

That must be where you live because around here people go with kbb private party values

This is why I paid TRADE IN for my truck:
1. People selling a car want to GET A NEW ONE
2. The dealership will not give them much
3. You offer a bit more than the dealership (about 15-20%) and you can get them to bite

When you say "go by" you mean, SOLD AT, or starting price? I am talking the price they are sold. Only suckers pay sticker price.

I have never seen a truck get sold for much more than kbb trade in value, without having more than the trade value invested into the vehicle

Unmatinenced vehicles sell good....why **** is not breaking all the time, and doesnt scare away buyers, telling someone you fixed a bunch of problems doesnt always put them at ease because what havent you fixed and is it ready to go

Sad to see that you are selling.

Not to be a d-bag but the first thing I thought of looking at that ad is ''boy people will think this is a lemon.''

I try and stay away from vehicles that have had alot of work done to them already. Because for starters they don't have a clue if the job was actually done right or backyard booty fabbed. And they will want to know well why did so much stuff need replacing. Just some things I picked out.

These are the exact reasons why I will not sell mine. Some guy wants to buy it give me $9k and you can have it. Seeings how that will not happen it stays with me >
