Default I'm off to the junkyard

Hopefully I'll come back with a set of horns off an older Cadillac for my car and my truck.

I was checking out YouTube the other day and those bad boy horns and the nautilus horns are too high pitched, much like my little air horns on my truck. In my browsing to find the loudest stock horn I saw a few different forums talking about mid 90's Caddilacs being the loudest so that's what I'm after.

I figure those horns will get me by until I bite the bullet and buy a set of train horns for my truck.

My dad's 1991 Cadillac Brougham has the loudest stock horns I've ever heard. I've made a guy in a Toyota Corolla pull off the road and let me by because I laid on the horn, and another time I made a guy on the sidewalk fall off of his bike because I honked when I went by him. There's actually 2 sets of horns on the car, 1 on both sides, that's why it's so loud.

That's what I've heard.
I got two sets of them from two different models. There are four notes: A, C, D and F.
The only difference between the two sets is that one uses the bracket as a ground and the other has a ground and a hot wire.
I'll snap a picture of them when I install them in my truck. I know I'm going to mount them in the stock horn location, but I'm not sure about the exact placement yet.

I made a bracket and put the horns on it. It is sitting loosely in these pictures, that's why I'm holding it up.
This bracket is a good example of why you always want to have a handful of scrap metal laying around.
Out of 8 horns I had one bad one. In the pictures it's the back right horn that still has the top of its bracket on. I'm going to go get another one tomorrow then when I get home I'll wire them up.

Those air horns and the alarm speaker are coming out tomorrow too.

I got them wired in today. I hooked them straight to the battery with relays so my horn button just powers the relays.

That's a stock horn in my dads truck vs my new/old Caddy horns. I have the camera centered between the two also.

Years ago, when I was married, we picked up a very nice 1996 Mazda Protege from the local Ford dealer's used car lot. The horn sounded (to me) like a dying frog. As luck would have it, the husband of the wife's friend had picked up an early 1970's Buick station wagon (aka Battlewagon) and let me have the dual horns. Woe was the person who was at the receiving end of the honk on that car. More than once the (then)-wife scared the shiat out of some a-hole on the road.

I need to look for a set of these for the Dodge. Thanks for the idea.

you shoulda' pointed the outlet at the mouth of your CAI Sheriff..

I'm not sure what that would have done either, but it would do SOMETHING I'm sure.. Like scare the hell out of your engine and kick out about 500,000 more ponies for a few seconds.. sorta like when David Hasslehoff punches the 'boost' button on KITT in teh old Night Rider.. You could jump small oceans and stuff with THAT kinda rig..

That's a thought, if I still had a CAI.
Y'all ought to hear it when I lock the doors, it sounds like a little train toot.

VW, I bet that station wagon had the same horns as the Cadillacs that were built the same year since they're both GM.

I forgot to mention that the horns only cost $10 and I already had wire and relays laying around.
