So, I was thinking about this a couple months ago. Now, it's summer vacation and nothing else really to do, so I decided to try and make myself a center console.
So far I've taken out the center seat

Then I took my measurments, then went on the computer and made up the model. (took the shape idea from RamSport97)



Then went and got some wood. That's where I am now. Next, I'm going to make a model out of cardboard and see if I like it.

 

What do you plan on putting in there? Looks like a nice design

 

not sure, center console stuff. lol. I am making it more for the reason or cup holders and boredom.

 

It would be neat to build a CB into it or maybe wire a toggle switch for cab lights and other accessories in the front of it.

Cup holders would be a great idea because the factory ones suck!

That will look good, similar to what I did.

One note, don't make it to tall, I made it to tall at first and later pulled the center console back out, and shaved it down an inch and a half.

thanks and RamSport I said before I took the idea from you. And as far as it being to tall thats why I'm making it out of cardboard first.

 

Good! That is what I did as well, felt comfy at the time, but after a month of driving it was way to tall, much better now though.

well I got the main parts to the cardboard model made. Now onto the real thing.

The reason for 4 notches on each side on the bottom was, I didn't like where it sat in the truck so I moved it back a couple inches.

 

Have you ever taken your truck off some sweet jumps?
