Ok so my mom and I were talking today (she has a 03 jeep liberty) and she keeps refering to it as her "truck". This upsets me cause it is not a truck! Guys please help me explain to her its not a truck!

 

Depends on what your using to determine if its a truck or not, if you were really technical then neither of you drive trucks.

But hey jeeps can be considered trucks

 

We always called my wife's old Blazer 'her truck'.... IMO, SUVs are closer to being a truck than a car, RWD/4WD, often lifted/mudded, etc.

What always irks me is the people that call everything cars regardless of whether it's a truck, SUV, lawn tractor, etc. I see it on TV and the movies allll the time. So I guess I'm opposite of you then...

 

I worked with a lady who came to the US from South Africa. She commented one day that she had seen my "van" that I drove to work. Huh? Apparently, on the other side of the pond, the English speaking people refer to a pickup as a "van". A truck is a lorry, or what we would call a large delivery van.

Bottom line, stop getting yer panties in a wad over what your mom calls her Liberty.
