Default Paint Job On Rocker Panels?!?!

My rocker panels are starting to get a little bit rusty and am wondering what to do. Is there any easy rust treatment? and they are already two toned and need to be done again. Does anybody know how much that would cost.

there is no "easy" rust treatment. theres the right way to do it and the cheap way which wont last very long or hold up well... depending on how bad the rust is, your pry looking at $1000 to have a shop do it. at least thats what i was told when i got a quote to fix all the rust on my truck...

It will depend on what you want done. Do you want it to look like the day you purchased it? Are you interested in changing it?

I did mine in Rust-Oleum bed liner for about $60. The stuff is holding up much better than I expected. I thought I messed it up once but after whipping it off with Armor All, it looked good as new again.

Glad you put some pictures up I was thinking about doing something similar to the cab. Mainly to hide the mistakes in the (grey) paint job.
I've decided to repaint it but caint make up my mind on red or white. I'm leaning more to red now after seeing these red and black Dodges.
So far the bed liner stuff is holding up well and even tried it on the plastic covers on the front bumper. So far it hasn't cracked or peeled even after standing on it and physically flexing it.
How ever I do not recommend the Rust-Oleum undercoating stuff.

The truck was already "two toned" but i wanted to redo it because its UV faded, and i kinda want the front bumper/cattle pusher and maybe the underbody painted

To get a body shop to do it it's going to cost you. If you want to take the cheap route and use the roll on bed liner stuff, like some of us, there's some threads on here about it.
Just FYI on the roller in the Rust-Oleum kit, don't reuse it if you let it sit long enough to get a flat spot in it. It will show on the truck if you look at it from the right angle. I hadn't tried the stuff in the cans.

BTW there was a guy on the Mopar forum (69charger..?) that practically perfected roll on paint jobs. Someone else started a forum dedicated to nothing but roll on paint jobs. Results may vary.

Just started this tonight. Only my rust was just reaching the bottom of the rocker panels. Probably didn't need to but took all rust and paint down to bear metal. Took off fender flares. Have a 1999 Dodge Ram 4x4 quadcab. It kind of looks cool to see no black paint or rust from the rocker panel and down. Only got 1 side done using an orbital sander with 60 grit sand paper. Did the jams as well. Going to use Dupli-Color Bed Armor. (it's made with Kevlar so now I'll be bullit proof.) We'll see how it goes/looks after tommorow. I'll post before and after pics.
