Im getting check engine light code p1494 and found out that theres a 2 inch hole in my charcoal canister. I'm going to do a patch job on it till I order a new one but the question is, if I put my hand over the hole while the truck is running should I feel air movement? i'm not feeling anything from the hole. revving up and idling...

 

Only occasionally...... I think the PCM just sucks it dry at startup, and some assorted other conditions, sitting there idling in park, may not be one of them.
