Default Buying '01 1500
Found a 1500 quad cab sport, black and clean whats a decent price? Looked on KBB and its around there price but what a real market value, and any thing bad with the 5.2?

Check the plenum https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...um-thread.html . And take it for a good long ride and make sure the tranny shifts properly. Make sure the 4wd works too(if it is 4wd).

As far as I knew they didn't have a sport with a 5.2.

Then I would think it has the 5.8 in it not the 5.2

The Sport package is purely cosmetic.
Isn't your truck a sport with a 5.2? Or did you just paint the bumpers and grille?

My truck is a SLT laramie. I just painted the bumpers and grille. And the 5.8 was a mis-type.

The wife is trying to get me away from dodge because my '00 Dakota has been a head case and is down again with a blown exhaust manifold gasket, but i got a soft spot for the Gen 2 rams..

A ton of Ram Sports have the 5.2. If I'm not mistaking, the only packages on the Ram that only offered the 5.9 were the Indys, SS/Ts, and Off Road Editions.

How much are they asking, and how many miles? Any rust?

$9900 with 78K miles and the frame looks pretty good for the year. I can tell it's not a northern truck, way less rust than my truck that has livedd in Maine it entire life.
