well so far i have torn my 96 ram almost completely down. its been given a new cat courtesy of magnaflow and sounds pretty beastly with just the cat but the rest of the exhaust is being welded up tommorrow, new intake plenum gasket, intake gaskets, water pump, oil pump and pan gasket, transmission flush and filter change, and she runs like a dream. next project installing a radio lol

Did you replace that nasty steel pan on the bottom of the intake?

At the very least replace the bolts on the plenum plate with non-OEM units. Half the arguments claim its the factory bolts, half claim its the steel pan on an aluminum manifold. I took care of both myself, just to make sure. Only wanted to do that job once.

well the timing chain had already been replaced by the previous owner and he had shown me the work order as proof. both O2 sensors have been replaced but i had to keep the stock plate due to lack of funding and time considering its a partial work truck and needed to be used but i did replace the bolts with some that were the same size but minus teh nipple length on the end. next project for the truck i ham not sure yet but i am gonna drive it till either the motor goes out and replace it with a 5.9 or till the wheels fall off lol
