Default PCV Statements

I'm noticing that only a dealer PCV is being recommended. Why? All I've seen is that aftermarkets are junk. IMO, Autozone doesn't have the best quality parts, but I have an Autozone PCV in my truck and haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary with it. I've just been curious.

Most of us have had no luck with 3rd party PCV's that's why.
The deal unit is better made and to tighter tolerances.

It's all about flow rate. Just because it fits, doesn't necessarily imply it is the 'right' part. The aftermarket pcv valves are mass produced for a multitude of vehicles, and their quality control really isn't the best.... so, flow rates are anything but consistent. The dealer part is a few bucks more, (but, still under ten bucks...) and is pretty much assured to work as it is supposed to.

To high a flow rate, you suck oil. To low, and you get pressure in the crankcase, with blows gaskets, leaves contaminants in the oil, etc. It's just cheap insurance.

K. Was just wondering. Maybe I'll get one from the dealer then.
