97 ram 1500 electcal problems

Default 97 ram 1500 electcal problems

i have a 97 dodge ram 1500 the other day i was replaceing my underhood lamp in shop class. i turn on the truck and the radio wouldnt turn on and the power mirrors would move. some of my friends were looking and messing the wiring under the steering wheel. they also pluged in device uner the steering wheel ive tested the fuses and there find where should i go from here?

Did you check the IOD fuse? It's the one with the black plastic clip on it.

there's 2 sets of fuses. one set is in the end of the dash - drivers side. the other group is under the hood, beside the battery in the power box.

is the radio stock or aftermarket. if stock, double check the radio and/or accy fuse in the end of the dash. if aftermarket, the problem could be anywhere, check fuses first and if nothing obvious, pull the radio and check how its wired up.

+1 on the iod fuse...its in the dash fuse panel..
