Default truck pulls?

Hey so the truck pulls are my parts are pretty popular a lot of my friends do it... but they either have super rich parents and have a built diesel running in the unlimited or super mod classes or the other half have older fords and Chevy with big blocks and lockers running in the stock 6500 lbs class(i'd running the the 6500lbs class)

the truck pulls arent till like march but i was wanting to do it once or twice just cause all my friends get me crap about it

but i'm worried about breaking a tranny or something else....

are there any surgest on parts i should up grade to get me a better chance of not breaking or ?

Upgrade your transmission, that'll break driving normally. Also lower your gear ratio with a good ring and pinion kit. Personally I wouldn't do it because you'll destroy your truck super fast but if you have a couple grand to upgrade it then a grand on standbye to fix anything that'll probably break than I'd say go for it.

Sorry but Im not trying to scare you and my advice could be wrong because I've never participated in a truck pull, but I've watched a ton of funny (to me) videos of people's trucks getting messed up, really bad. There's a video of a diesel second gen engine blowing up, and a video of a second gens frame bending badly too. Personally I wouldn't participate but I do like mudding and that's horrible for my truck too so I can't talk too much sh!+ lol

Truck pull topic in the tech section? This is better suited in the Gen. Discussion since you're requesting non-specific suggestions and there is no "technical" problem being encountered other than not being able to start Truck Pulling today.

yeah, bustin' your chops big guy.

Ive got a buddy with an 05 2500HD cummins thats fully built running between 60-70psi of boost and he only pulled once with it and says he wouldnt want to do it again. He has the money to replace things if they break but its just to hard on your truck and I wouldnt do it with my DD. Just my 2cents though.

yeah i got a rebuild tranny with a shift kit and etc.. its only got 35k on it so i think the tranny with be fine... as far as gears go i'm not gonna go any lower i have 4.10s and my rearend is new so it be a waste of money to repalce it after its only been in my truck for 4 months

yeah i think i'll carry some u joints mine are a little tired i'm gonna repalce them before hand tho

and yeah i know its hard on your truck.. but trucks are made to be used and abused...

+2... Reading Jason's stickies up top are too much for some. LOL On a side note, I can't wait to read the results after the pulling happens.
