what gauges do u have?
sweet well i got my 3 gauges i need tranny temp, oil, and vacuum
so how does a vacuum gauges help u save fuel? i understand why its important to have incase i get a vacuum leak.. but saves fuel how?
beside the tranny temp and oil pressure and vaccum are there any other gauges i should consider? cause i can also just mount more at the bottom of my dash
fuel pressure maybe or ?

I'm going with fuel pressure just because these darn pumps have a habit of losing pressure over a long period of time before finally the truck won't run, and I hate being taken by surprise. I hate hate hate hate it! If it weren't for that characteristic of these trucks and/or my irrational hatred of broken 5h17 I'd think the fuel pressure gauge a bit excessive.

Mine are (purchased, not yet installed) two diff temps and trans temp in the dash pod, fuel pressure, manifold vacuum, and tachometer in the pillar pod. My truck's a base model so it has a big gas gauge instead of a tach in the instrument cluster.
The diff temp gauges are superfluous unless you're really working the truck hard with lots of weight in the bed or in a trailer or do stream crossings that result in water in the diffs.

Saving gas with a vacuum gauge: keep as much negative pressure as possible to save fuel.. you would be surprised how much and often you needlessly load the engine, and the changes are so tiny in sound they are really hard to hear.. add a radio or traffic, you're not going to be able to detect it at all..
When I installed one, I found the difference in 10psi and 15psi was like a millimeter of pressure on the go foot.. I also found that positioning my foot to catch a different angle on the pedal allowed less likelihood of accidentally over loading..
If you disregard road speed all together, and focus on engine load, and give just enough load to get the job at hand done, your mileage will jump way up... That's not practical, but its possible.. what is practical is stopping the ramp up/ ramp down game of loading the engine, then shaving speed by coasting even a second or two, just to load it again.. if you get close to a steady 'plane', you'll increase your mileage too.

I'll make more noise about the ordeal when I get around to doing it.
