Default Why is Dodge parts so expensive?

Being a SB Chevy guy and have dome my fair share of rebuilds, mods and hop ups, SB Chevy is MUCH cheaper than MOPAR.

What gives?
It is almost depressing and maybe go back to Chevy or GMC here real soon.

It's just the economy of scale. It's always cheaper to build a thousand of something than a hundred (for example) and GM has a significantly larger market share.

I also have a 4x4 Toyota and an old Jag, and Dodge parts are as high as Jag and higher than Yota! My 454 CHevy is the cheapest thing I own to work on!

It's because Dodge adds a surcharge every time someone posts a thread in the wrong section on DF.

Depends on what SBC Chevy you're working on. My 98 5.9 Dodge parts are generally cheaper than my 95 blazer with the 4.3 V6. Gen 1 SBC parts are the cheapest because they're the same from the mid 1950's to the mid 80's. Anything else is more expensive. Look at the price of stuff for the ls engines!

You'll always pay a bit higher price to be different. Kinda like McDonalds vs Fatburger.

90's chevy parts are cheaper because the motor is a simpler design that was 30 years old allot of companies make the same parts and have to be competitive. New design in our trucks and less companies making parts

Ummmm -- Chevies are piles of crap that are in constant need of rebuilding whereas Mopars aren't?
