How to measure a lift kit
ok i bought a new lifted dodge the guy said it has a 10" lift with 3 of it being body. i have found the 3"s but i dont think the suspension is 7" how can i measure this to find out.
You most likely won't ever be able to get the exact 7" for the suspension lift. You understand the body lift to be 3", which is good.
The SL will be roughly 7" (most likely less) only b/c of time for which the springs settle out. They get to a stable state based on the vehicles weight and distribution. To really confirm, only what I can speak to and maybe others can provide better, is to ask for receipt or brand/part number of the SL kit. Take to a local offroad type shop and have them help identify it, maybe even ask them their opinion on the condition. Pull up next to a stock 2nd gen. Measure from center axle to top of spring bucket. That would be approximate.
