Default Fabrication, Dodge or Otherwise

Some of you here are talented when fabricating anything for your Dodge or any other hobby. Let's devote this thread with sharing fabrication finds with others or sharing your fabrications** with us. As always, please include pictures, all relative dimensions, and associated materials lists.

For starters, I would like to present a Twin Spark Plug, Dual Distributor Build.

** For the purpose of this thread, fabrications is defined as anything mechanical having to be made from scratch, repaired, or improved upon. It is not meant to be an open invitation for telling the usual pile of lies we normally expound on one another.

Yes, you really can drill a square hole in sheet stock.

Well, I'm a finish carpenter and just got done fabricating like a hundred things today (out of wood of course) LOL

Anyway, back on subject, the last thing I fabricated for the truck (out of metal) was the mount for my tranny temp gauge(installed into the cubby on 98 and later model dashes). Unfortunately, I didn't take pics or measure measurements, during the process.

And if you want to drill a square hole in sheetrock, use a Roto Zip.

I used to build these, best job I ever had.

Late model Taco

2nd gen dodge in progress

2nd gen 4runner

20 ft car ramps i built...

And of course...

Cost? I can't provide an actual figure, I was just the shop boy/apprentice, but probably 3-400 in materials & laser cutting everything, then welding supplies... then double coating it all... Also options like brushguard/bars add to that of course.

Everything was made from Hi-grade 1/4 in plate steel, and DOM tubing.

Boy do I miss that job.

VW - This is the guy. He may be able to build what you want, he does anything. Jason Perkins, great dude.

www.perkinsperformance.com

Plenty of 4x4 custom fab in there to keep anyone drooling for hours

Default Rock Slider/Bumper Stock

So I found some cheap stock material to do this. Sorry its not a complete fab job, yet.

My bday gift to myself today, $20, 3x3x.188. You can get an idea of lengths here on the 3 pieces.

Current thoughts are to create brackets out of .25 plate that go to the frame. Box around the frame, then weld slider extensions to the plate with further gussets. As I get closer, I'll toss up a CAD drawing and will welcome input.
