Where you heading? My old stomping grounds were a bit away from Fitzgerald but I might know the area anyway.

I always camped and played along the Ocmulgee and the upper Altamaha near where the Ocmulgee and Oconee meet it. Pulled a mostly submerged Nissan Frontier out of the Ocmulgee about twelve years ago that a buddy of mine sank off a sandbar when I had my 2nd Gen...

We found a decent spot along the Ocmulgee at the Jacksonville, Ga landing.

I'm hoping I can get one of my buddies to come along with their truck so when/if I get stuck someone will be there to pull me out.

Hell I know right where you are talking about, right off 441. I used to have a fishing buddy from Douglas meet me there when I lived in Vidalia and we'd fish the river out of his boat for redbreasts and yellow cats (my 19' bass boat wouldn't navigate well there).

Shame I ain't in Douglas this weekend or I'd meet you up there. I won't be back up until early March.

You need to invest in a winch if you're gonna start doing that sh*t alone!!!

Yup, that's the place. We go there almost every weekend during the warm months. We'll load up a trailer with tables, chairs, charcoal grill, and of course, a cooler full of beer. Spend all day out there.

It's a decent sized playground if there aren't too many other's around.

And you are right, I need to get winch! Also wanting a rear locker, might be able to happen around income tax time....
