I just got a call from the post office asking if I ordered something from advance auto parts!!! That means my clutch came in! But then they told me I can't pick it up till noon. Rude.

Kool. So you have installed a new pilot bushing/bearing in the flywheel and you have a clutch disc aligning tool. Right

Here you people go!

My friend who helped me with the install.

And when I went to start 'er up and drive it for the first time since the day before thanksgiving, it wouldn't start. No spark. After further investigation I found that the crank sensor wires slipped during bellhousing installation, resulting in them getting crushed between the bh and block. This broke the actual sensor off the bracket. So i need 1) a new crank sensor, and 2) I need to split the bellhousing from the block to get the old out, because with it the trans will not be aligned correctly, resulting in uneven clutch wear. Hopefully I can accomplish that without dropping the trans again...

Crank sensor's are sposed to look like this right?

EDIT: While I have your attention, are there any brands of crank sensors that I should stay away from? I see they range from $45 to twice that.

Okay and less on rockauto. They are listed as "for auto" or "for manual." What's the difference?

I told you the damn crank position sensor! DAMN THAT THING! Here is a picture of the old one from mine and the new one...

I got the only one that was available at advance auto parts and it worked great. I can see if I have anymore pictures of it... but that's the damn thing I broke off when installing my transmission... almost exactly like yours.

Eh, I'm not too worried about it. I didn't have any trouble getting mine out like some have complained about (even with the EGR return tube in the way), and i think i will be able to pry the stuff away without much trouble. We shall see!

I got pulled over today, doing 55 in a 35 (everyone else was doing 45-50ish) and halfway through writing the ticket the cop figured out that I was military, and let me off.

Bought a new BWD crank sensor from advance auto, after my wings get done cookin I will put it in and see what happens.

You get pulled over before or after you called me? Haha, great to hear you got away with it! Let me know if that CPS works, I'm rummaging for my receipt to look up the part number if the one you get doesn't work.
