Happy Birthday to Me!!!
Before I called
I figured out that the only difference between the auto and manual CPS is the plug guides. I modded mine and it works fine. EDIT: this is incorrect. See post 193.
YES! That means I drove the truck! It runs like crap, I think I screwed up some of the vacuum hoses, so I will need to find a diagram. And the motor is STILL leaking oil (out of the brand new filter, and I think the rear main
). Also for some strange reason the speedo/odo sensor isn't giving input. The only thing I can think of is that I modded the neutral safety switch so that I don't have to depress the clutch to start it, but I don't really think that would affect it.
So I made huge progress, but it still needs a lot.

Just an update:
The crank sensor from an auto WILL NOT work with a manual transmission. The sensor makes physical contact with the flywheel.
Hopefully that explains why the truck was running like garbage. Advance Auto will have the correct sensor for me to pick up tomorow.

Got my new crank position sensor from Advance, dropped it in, and it runs great now! I have missed having a truck. Still need to figure out the speedo issue though.
It may just be the fact that I am used to driving the IS300 (essentially a 4dr supra), but the truck seems excruciatingly slow. Could be vacuum leaks, could be tired motor, could be 3.55's w/33's, or a combination of all those things

Why thank you
Thanks! Its not quite mud ready yet (no fans, electric or mechanical, also tcase tailhousing slowly leaking) but the goal is to drive it down with some friends to some mudfest event we're going to on April 19th. And play obviously haha
It started idling funny when I took it for a longer drive, so I am going to take a look at the IAC tomorow, and give it a good cleaning. Hopefully that will help. It has displayed the "hard to start" symptom for quite a while, usually requiring me to give it throttle to fire, but I never thought much of it. Now it's idling rough at times, speeding up and slowing down, so my first guess is IAC. I will let you all know how it turns out.
On a totally random note, I composed this entire post from my android phone, proving that it is possible to post intelligently from a mobile device
