what gun/rifle do you have
Just as well as it does without. Only downside to the suppressor is the gun gets 10x as filthy from powder residue. also makes it a bit harder to use iron sights... they make a scope mount for it, I just use the laser.
cause that "bb gun" is as loud as a .45 when its not suppressed and has a decent sized muzzle flash coming out of the end of the barrel. not as loud or as much flash as a .223, but it is loud enough to make the ears ring.
.22LR pistols are significantly louder than .22LR rifles.
lol the pistol does sound like a bb gun with the suppressor on it!
in fact, the barrel on the pistol is short enough that you can fire cheap high velocity bulk ammo though it and its just as quiet as subsonic ammo. any .22LR barrel shorter than 3.5" will not make a round go supersonic. my short barrel on the P22 is 3.4"
I also have a 5" target barrel and fake compensator to make up for the extra barrel length for it.

As for it being loud without it, I agree. My mom has a Taurus PT-22 and that sucker barks like a 9mm.
A fake compensator is real excuse to get a bigger gun.

We've got a Beretta U22 NEOS and it shoots so nicely. Accurate too.
only reason it came with it. its just for looks, there is no holes cut in the barrel to make it functional.
though If I ever get around to buying a 1911 .45, I'm definitely going to get both a muzzle brake (compensator), and a threaded barrel. shot my buddies .45 with the muzzle brake bushing on it, and omg it makes a huge difference in recoil and accuracy!
don't recommend trying this: we were out riding dirtbikes on the mountain, chillin at the top of the mountain and I was drunk and staggering, buddy hands me the 1911 and says shoot that branch, and points to a branch sticking out of a downed tree about 25 yards away.
so i hold the gun out after my drunk stagger, slowly squeeze the trigger every time my wobbly *** got back on target, and boom, hit the bastard dead center first shot!
I got a pic of it on my old phones memory card, but the branch was no bigger around than a .5L water bottle. blew a clean entrance hole in the front, and the whole back side of the branch blew off (hollow points)
we were both surprised I hit it lol. put the safety on gave him the gun back and took another drink
I credit the gun and muzzle brake for being a high precision tack driver that can stack rounds on top of each other. Love that thing

yeah cause the barrel kinda sticks out of the end of the slide by over an inch and 1/2

Much agree.
