I don't know why they put it in such a difficult place... I have all the room in the world to the front of my passenger side in the engine compartment... I feel like there should be something there... ah well...

New problem I found while driving the truck is that my oil pressure gauge will drop to 0 for no reason while driving, I believe it has only happened while in higher gears, around 4-5th? Also, my oil light on the dash comes on sometimes after shifting...? Ah to be a novice...
Hook up a mechanical gauge and see what kind of pressure you're really getting. Supposedly the gauges aren't the most accurate, BUT you don't wanna blow your motor if indeed the pressure is getting too low..

This gauge you speak of... something I can borrow from a auto zone, advanced auto parts, oreillys? Now I can drive the truck, I plan on borrowing a lot of tools... I've spent about $600-750 bucks on acquiring tools, many I could have done without probably, but I consider them an investment... just need to curb the need to buy more at the moment...

I don't see anything for loaner tools. But the gauges aren't too expensive for a basic one.

When it goes to zero intermittently, 99.44% of the time it is the sending unit (next to the distributor in the back of the engine) but it is always a good idea to make sure, i.e. mechanical guage

Ya don't wanna end up like VW who's Crown Victoria showed 0 oil pressure on the regular gauge and shortly blew up...

Haha (regards VW)! I wonder if I hit something near the distributor when I was changing out the CPS today... It's very possible, I was loosening something I wasn't supposed to... vertical plug of some sort near the passenger side I thought was the CPS... I haven't researched to see what that was yet...

you're right stewie... $16 bucks isn't bad... plus I get to return a clutch kit, torque bar, some allen sockets... for about $300 bucks in total, so I can make away with a profit still...

Has anyone installed a temperature gauge on their manual trans? nv3500? I see a DIY for a auto... I'm not even sure where to being to tap into the fluid on the manual... maybe in the drain/fill plug... like have a replacement plug with a senor wire coming out of it? Oh the possibilities...

the guy retrofitted the fill plug and put a sensor in it like I suggested only moments ago... maybe I was sleep walking and looked this up already?

I have a hard time believing that would be accurate, since its not submerged.

True, would be more of a surface read... Though it would let me know when I need to add more fluid if I'm not getting a read...

I seafoamed today... haven't driven the truck more than 25 miles, but I needed to fill up and now I'm at a full tank of gas!! Yay me, boo wallet.

Funny story, I couldn't find my funnel in the truck, so while wearing my camo hat... I decided to do this...

Yeah... that's a mountain dew bottle I had in the truck bed... and my screw driver opening the gas tank flap... hey, I had a link of cars behind me wanting to get gas, had to act fast!

On a side note, I've been told I should not add seafoam to my oil until I am about to replace it? Is that so all the crap it loosens up, I would be removing during the oil change? Or should I still add it to my fresh oil change as of yesterday?
