advice for possible purchase
Well, if it had 4.10's in it then it would have 4.10's in it... Some came that way from the factory, but many have 3.55's. Cummins will get significantly better fuel economy, but maintenance/repair costs will have you running and screaming...
And diesel costs more per gallon....
To check the gears in diff, there is a metal tag (or should have) on the differential. Actuall, there should be 2 tags. One will show the gears. Also, a build sheet from Dodge will show what came in the truck from the factory.

+1, Anyway, all you have to do is look at the sticker on the radiator support, or open the glove box and look at that sticker to find out what gears it has.
Um yea, 2500's are more truck, so they cost more. The only 2500's that ever came with a 5.2 were the 94-95 light duty models, which were essentially a 1500 with 8-lug hubs and 2500 brakes. You will most likely not come across one of those, but if you do, it's not worth anything more than a 1500 in my opinion.
