What size tip? Primer and clear coat should be 1.7-1.8mm. Base coat should be 1.4-1.5mm. At least thats what I always used.

 

And another thing I learned. A good quality gun will make a difference. I picked up a nice Iwata at an estate sale ($20!). It is easier to adjust (once you figure out how) and does a better job than one you can pick up at Harbor Freight. The HF ones will work, just not as well. The Iwata sells new for $350 to $400+. Tip size is very important. It is listed on the tech sheet for whatever paint, primer, and clear you use.

Of course it would have been a lot easier if I could have talked kejobe into coming down to Texas to help me!
