Lived in SW WA all my life, love it here and have no desire to live anywhere else in the country. The scenery is just awesome and the weather is pretty mild most of the time. Been to Spokane a few times and it's a cool little place, wouldn't mind living around there.

For me it's a mental thing. I kinda hate the people over here in gay vegan tree hugging welfair state of seattle. Everbody seems more normal to me over in E Wa. I miss the hard working conservative blue collar atmosphere over in Spokane.

You've been so you probably remember the winters. They can be pretty long and cold, but the brief warm to hot and dry summers make up for it in my opinion. Seattle is is basically the same weather as Spokane but much milder. Add or subtract 20 to 30 degrees from the spikes in Spokane weather and that's what seattle is like. Nice and smooth transitions between the barely discernible seasons. Spokane is much more desert like whereas Seattle is practically a rainforest.

What I loved about Bremerton was that driving or riding the ferry to Seattle took the same amount of time, so we always hopped in my Karmann Ghia and headed to the ferry terminal. I wish I had been able to snap a picture of the time my Ghia was at the front of the ferry, leading the way across Pugent Sound. Here's a picture of it when a couple of us went to Mt St Helens National Park:

First year we were in Bremerton, it rained and rained and rained....and then it rained. By the second year, it was raining only every four or five days and the temps were incredible just hanging in the 70s every day.

Like the other guys have said about Texas and Louisiana, Oklahoma SUCKS. Hot, hot, and EFFING HAWT with constant winds. How many other places have to contend with wind gusts from 30mph upward to 80mph for DAYS. Every spring and every fall, we go through weather changes where the winds blow at a constant 40-50mph for a week straight. There's nothing to do here because it's so flat, dusty, and windy and the lakes are a joke. They're all gigantic dirty man-made puddles of reddish/brown water and it pisses off the locals when that fact is pointed out to them. This is why people here love their OU and OSU football even though 99% of the fan base couldn't spell OU or OSU if their lives depended on it.

Any suggestions at improving life or the area are always met with, "If ya don't lahk it...LEAVE!!" Did I mention the majority of dumbass bible thumpers who think the US is a theocracy and every problem can be resolved by requiring prayer in school and everyone getting some churchin'?

The winters run the gamut because of how the Jet Stream and the Gulf air fight each other. It is not uncommon for temps from Monday through Friday to run as follows: 35º, 40º, 30º, 65º, 23º. I have literally been working in my front yard in January in my t-shirt and then two days later freezing my gonards. The worst part of winter is the ice storms because these idiots can't drive in snow or ice, so your best bet is to stay in, stay locked, and stay armed.

GAH!....Hallelujah....where's the Tylenol?

**EDIT**

Here's a comparison of weather for the two areas this week. I'll take Spokane's in a heartbeat.

VW your new sig pic LMFAO!!!

Two more things:

The only thing "bigger" in mexas is the ego of residents. They brag and brag how their state is so amazing and they can secede and be their own country blah, blah, blah. Get so sick of hearing that! I tell them "why don't you"? You're already bankrupt so just go back to mexico if USA is so bad.

Now, there are some good people here and who truly love the USA but I pity them. They try and be nice, "Isn't texas great? Don't you love it?" I say, "no, I don't." They get all defensive, "why NOT???" I respond, "You ever been outside of texas?" .........

"well....no... but texas is so big and diverse it blah, blah, blah,...."

that's when I walk away.

The second thing is WHERE ARE ALL THE TRUCKS YOU ALWAYS HEAR ABOUT??? Tehas does NOT have big trucks here. Horrible drivers, yes. Dented and rundown old junkers, yes. Low riders, yes. Hot pink paint jobs, yes. Big trucks, nope. If you want to live in Dodge country, you need to be in the northwest. Everything is Dodge and Cummins up there. Every intersection looks like a showroom for off-road products.

ROTFLMAO! Texas is the one State Oklahoma desires to be like, yet loves to hate. And the same thing holds true for Okies:
"Ah cain't 'majin livin' nowheres else."
"Have you been anywhere else (besides Las Vegas or Dallas)?"
"Uh, no. But thisiz Gawd's kun-tray."
Yeah....I don't think so. If anything, this place is closer to hell.

When the subject of Dallas comes up, I love telling people, "Oh hell no. That's too damned close to Texas." Shuts them up for a few as they try to figure that one out.

love the pacific NW, if you like cool nights, and warm days with minimal humidity, go to eastern WA or eastern OR. if you like green scenery, lots and lots of rain, hipsters and douche bags, move to western WA. If you want something in between: go to the west side of the cascades, but stay close to them, don't keep venturing west lol.

Something else about the PNW: tons of fat chicks...TONS! especially in Porkland, OR: home of the OTHER white meat!

I'm from western WA, in a small town that's about 30-40 miles from snoqualmie pass. so I'm in the foothills of the cascades, and not too close to Seattle, but close enough I can commute to Bellevue where I work.. I'm in the IT field, so moving east of the mountains isn't really an option for me since there are not really any jobs over there for that field.

it Rains about 9-10 months out of the year, but sometimes we get a nice summer with warm weather perfect for boating. (tons of lakes and rivers here)

Not really into "traditional" trials, mainly just ride hardcore trails, hillclimbs and play around on a few obstacles, they're the best bikes ever. Everyone else can keep their dirt tanks, er bikes.

I have a couple friends who moved to Texass and I dread the thought of going there for their wedding

haha I love my "dirt tank"

its a great trail bike its seen its share of steep inclines and gone off the trails through the woods and log hopping. being a bottom heavy 220lb bike, shes a lot easier to throw around than a top heavy 4-stroke is.
