Any 2nd Gen Peeps in Oregon or Washington?
Been reading some posts on a forum that covers moving to different cities and states: Washington/Spokane Area and also have been discussing an outsider's take with someone I know who moved from California to Spokane a few years ago.
Long story short -- Spokane sounds like the PNW's version of much of Oklahoma. The natives (such as my one friend who has lived there his entire life) have blinders on and see it as a wonderful place, while the realists point out the stark realities. It sounds like it would be a nice place to live were I retiring; however, at the point in my life it doesn't sound like the place I want to live. It would basically be akin to moving to a different level of Hell.

Kinda leaning that way. I loved the Seattle area, especially when people would call the local radio station to report they could see Mt Ranier that day, which would give people in the area an idea as to how good visibility was.
go for Maple Valley, Covington, Auburn, Kent, Renton, or if you want outside the small cities: Ravensdale, Hobart, Black Diamond... all nice areas. I lived in 3 of them. (first 5 years of my life were in Covington, next 10 were in Ravensdale, and the rest were in Hobart lol) never did leave Hobart.
