That would be your best bet. That way, you would KNOW what you have, and that it would handle what you were dishin' out. You could prolly pick up an engine/trans for a couple hundred, so you could still drive your truck while building them up.

250 engine and trans here in the neck of the woods hun. Im going to also get front axle and t-case

$250 for an engine and tranny is a good price if either is in decent shape.

I got a few bolt ons to do this weekend since I doing some work on the truck and taking off stickers and such.

Alright dangit I got the headers on and now Im looking to getting some more power outta it.

whats the best chip/programmer to get? Since my truck topped out @ 98 earlier. However fixing to just rebuild this motor and try to make it breath really good. (cam,heads, and good intake)

Can you tune a '96? Or is that '95/older you can't tune? I don't remember.

If you can tune it an SCT is probably the best bang for your buck.

SCT from hemifever.....

96 and up is OBDII compliant.

+1.....especially for a DD. Gotta figure based on what one wants to do with the truck.
