Run it until you wear out those tires, then upgrade to an axle set (8-lug) out of a 2500 (60/60 or 60/70) and get 16" tires and wheels at the same time. That's gonna be your best bet.

Welcome to the Dodge Forum, nice truck

Swapping a 1/2 ton axle for another 1/2 ton axle is a waste...
I'd definitely go for D60/70 out of a 98-02 2500. Fairly simple swap (with a good amount of build threads and DIYs out there) and you won't have to worry about breaking shafts or things of that nature.

What is it you want then? a 60/70 will be a good setup for the trails and the road. If it's just your daily and you aren't gonna wheel it too hard the stock axles will be fine with 35's. Theres not really anything in between what you have and what we suggested, especially considering the ease of install using axles out of another 2nd gen.

yea i didnt know if from serching i had found all the axles so i asked cuz like chevy there is the dana 44 then next step up is a gm 10 bolt then a gm 12 bolt or 1/2 ton axles so i was wondering if there was maybe the same equivalent for dodge
but if i end up keeping it ill do like a 60 up front and ether 70 in back or put a gm 14 bolt ff under the back but i do have an offer of 4k for the truck if i still have it by the end of the summer
