Default Anybody know anything about Trailblazers?

I had a friend ask me to help him with his 2003 chevy trailblazer. Does anyone on here know anything about them? I have looked everywhere, and at every chevy forum I can find. They all suck compared to this forum. No one uses them it seems like.

I know 1 thing about Trailblazers, They suck, as do the chevy forums. LOL

Of course it would be nice to know what the problem is to begin with, besides the fact it's a chevy.

umm, if you had asked about a specific problem, i could be thinking about the answer instead of asking you - what is your problem? damn.

The motor is shot. Replace the whole vehicle with a smart car and cure all problems

I know bunches about trailblazer, their main problems are the front view mirrors they have located the vehicles stern. Objects become closer than they appear to be, which of course leads to all sorts of mishaps. Since no questions were asked I can only assume that's the problem..

Sorry, that was pretty dumb. It wont start. It acts like it wants to right off the bat but then just turns over. I found out today when I went to mess with it that something is draining the battery. It is not even two months old. I have read a bunch of stuff on them and came to the conclusion that they do seem to be junk, but I am not going to let this thing fool me just yet. It seems to be getting fuel and spark. I have read a lot about the ignition switch going bad but I cant see it being that, but you never know I guess.

i'd troubleshoot it the same as a dodge.

spray some starting fluid down the air filter/throttle body and see if it fires up, or at least tries to fire up more better. this would indicate no fuel.

check for spark at the plugs. remove a plug and ground it while cranking.

'03 probably has coil packs instead of a single coil. i don't know how to troubleshoot this, but i assume you can check for voltage at the coil pack.

Ok, I got this turd runnin. It starts and runs just fine but the battery gauge only stays about 8 to 10 volt when idling and right about where it should be when driving. The battery is only about two months old. Im hoping it isnt an alternator for my friends sake. Im curious to know what could ruin a new battery? It did sit dead for a good while

If the battery froze, it is toast.

Not charging at idle isn't a good sign. Probably failing alt, as they are internally regulated on the GM products. Might be the wrong pulley size too for that matter...... or slipping belt? (which seems like it would get worse with higher RPM......)

What should it be putting out at the alt? 13v-14v?
