Bought a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 a few months ago. The truck will never start on the first turn of the key but will always start on the second. Then when I have been driving the truck for a little while, turn it off and then back on it will start right away. Don't know where to begin and could use any advice you have.

Need a new fuel pump. Pressure regulator is shot. Get a Delphi from RockAuto and use the discount code from the thread in the 2nd gen Ram general discussion section.

 

From experience I'd say zman is right, I found that if I turned the key on and waited a few seconds it would start on the first try, but after a couple of weeks the fuel pump went out completely. Not fun !
