The ticket would be citing the actual law/regulation for the violation....

Hate to get too technical here, but that refers to DOT and clearly states "National Network" which means Interstate Highways. Normal allowable width here in Texas is 8'0". States can regulate in state on state highways, farm to market roads, county roads, etc. (see Texas Motor Vehicle Code....www.texasonline.com).

Well, that would include all Federal non-interstate highways, also. If they have the funky shield, it's part of the national network, like highway 290 through the hill country, or highway 77 from Mexico up north. They can enforce whatever podunk rules the state allows on their own highways and streets.

if they really tried to enforce it, I would get an attorney and fight it in court.

if you don't stick up for yourself you will let them get away with f-ing you in the *** and it may not even be law what they try to enforce...

In most Texas counties, the troopers, county mounties and judges come from the same couple of families. Like Van Horn and Fort Stockton. Bite one bean and you take on the whole burrito. It's called Texas justice for a reason. Judge Roy Bean started it, but it's been perfected since.

I agree with this.

Just don't get into trouble is my thinking.

Or be an NRA member and a CHL holder. Then they will leave you alone.
