Here's my ride with most of the bits removed, pre paint job.
I'll take the lights off when I drop it at the shop.

I'm surprised how well the bed held up under the OEM liner.

2001 Ram 1500 Reg Cab 2WD V6 Auto. Day I bought it from my bro-in-law. Never thought Id own a Dodge Ram but here it is. Nothing worked in it, I've fixed or replaced so much crap on this stupid truck. The V6 & Auto will be a boat anchor this fall, a engine swap is coming.

But here's a few pics, Day 1 till now. Cleaned up, painted a few faded parts, updated the wheels to 20" and lowered it 2/4.

Nice!

Tell us about your upcoming transmission swap. You going with a 5.2 or 5.9? You going to be using a NV3500 or NV4500 transmission?

Well... hopefully I wont get thrown off of this forum, but it's not a Mopar engine. I found a LQ4 6.0L & 4L80E out of a wrecked 01 Chevy 2500. It was cheap, so why not.

The fun part is going to be getting the gauges and such to work. Dodge uses it's own little network in your truck, and the GM computer isn't going to know how to talk to it.

hmm I wonder if Caspers makes a fix for it. I'll use some autometer gauges for the time being.

I'm thinkin' a custom cluster would probably end up being the less expensive in the end.

Got rid of the 20's, found a set of stock 16's that cleaned up pretty good!
