I picked up my 97 Ram 1500 5.9L about 6 weeks ago from a co-worker for 3K. He had it about 2 years, he put about 50k on it with no real issues and he just put all new ball joints and tie rods and a new (walmart) battery too.

It has 216,000 miles, runs good, body has no rust (CA Truck), but clear coat on roof top is peeling and starting on the hood now too, but in overall very good condition. Passed CA smog no problem. Everything works in this truck, power windows, mirrors, A/C nice and cold too.

It had a few minor problems, I replaced the thermostat housing as it was cracked and leaking and put in the stock 195 T-stat. Serviced the trans as the pan was leaking and it just needed serviced. The water pump gasket is seeping, but not at an alarming rate, keeping an eye on that.

I just installed 4 new KYB shocks, and polished the wheels and put new center caps and chrome lug nuts all around.

Tossed on some seat covers, as drivers seat was starting to rip a little.
It could use some new rear tires, but I am going to hold off until I can replace all 4 at once.

The day I bought her:

After I had polished it and cleaned her up some.

Here is my baby. I try to keep her nice and clean when ever I can. If you look at the front, five minutes after I installed the grill and headlights my wife back her explorer into it and tore up the bumper, so now I gotta get a new one, the interior has been totally redone except for the seats. Under the rear seat it has a custom fiberglass box with two ten inch JL Audio W-7, and a 2,000 watt boss amp under the center console. I was able to find a single din 7" touchscreen stereo, it is a DVD player, tv, has the backup camera compatible, blue tooth and has an input specifically for the IPod. Since I commute an hour and back to work everyday, it is really nice with the blue tooth device, I can do business calls while driving. I tore out the whole interior and undercoated inside the cab, then put dynomat on top of that. All you can here is wind noise when going down the road.

Hey lil blee, nice Ram! I love the red, wish mine was red! What year is yours?
Nice clean engine bay too! Did you paint the air intake like that? I like it!

How are you liking the headlights? I was thinking of getting those, but it doesn't appear that the turn indicator is visible from the side to other drivers?
