Default dodge shifts hard

I got a 99 v10 and it shifts really hard. it will rev to about 2700 rpm and shift hard each gear. is this a major problem or something simple?

How's your fluid level? Check with truck in normal operating temperature, in Neutral (set ebrake).

Sometimes low fluid will cause irregular shifts, not saying that's what your problem is, but won't hurt to check.

If fluid looks ok I would then drop the pan, see if anything is in there that shouldn't be, maybe clean or replace the sensors and filter.

Oh. I would probably walk away from this one. Just my opinion... A neglected transmission = rebuild sooner or later.

Well, give it a thorough look over, unless you pretty much know you're buying this truck I wouldn't drop the pan, I'd hate to waste $60-$70+ to refill a transmission for someone else...
