Default Looks like a move south is in my future!

Well, I received a job offer on Friday and wanted to take the weekend to discuss with my wife. Did not return the call until today, and accepted a position with a non profit coalition in Austin. So moving south about 200 miles. Start job on Monday. It involves training, technical assistance, and public policy work.

It will be a great opportunity with less headaches than being CEO! Someone else gts to worry about the bottom line, grants, budgets, and all the management issues that come form government contracts!

So now the search will be on for a house with a 2 car garage AND a shop. This in itself may present a challenge, but there are some small towns outside the city that should produce some reasonable candidates. Trying to decide on the hotel or RV park thing for the first couple of weeks until I can find a place....so won't be doing much with Ram for several weeks.

Congrat's on the job man! Less stress and headache at work is always a good thing. Less baggage to bring home.

Thanks, guys. But a good stripe is worth the extra drive! And more DF members in that area than out here in the middle of nowhere! Closer to Longhorn football, but harder to get Maverick and Ranger games. Guess I'll have to spend the extra for the additional sports package on Dish! Efveryone there is a darn Texan, Rockets or Spurs fan....but makes for interesting rivalry when I have been in sports bars there! I was in Austin about 2 to 3 times a month on business.

(and Stewie...I knd of hijacked your thread title a little!....lol....)

RV hasn't been cranked up since December and is still winterized. Also registration and state inspection have expired. Probably do the extended hotel to start. Seems RV parks are not any cheaper. Member here already gave me some ideas on places outside Austin to look, and I have 2 grandkids about half hour away from there! That will be another big pluc. While working and traveling to Ausitn there was seldome enough time to visit with them! Now I can spoil them like I am supposed to! And have six more grandkids in Harlingen and Ediburg, so this puts us about 3 hours closer to them....and that makes the wife REALLY happy!

Congrats on the new gig, man!

Now go fix yer headlights. You're gonna need 'em living so close to my second ex-wife (who's in Austin). She's a menace behind the wheel.

Great big rubber baby buggy bumpers would be better. The woman doesn't look where she's going. Doesn't pay attention to idiot lights in the dash or buzzers going off, either. As far as she's concerned, if it ain't herself it ain't worth looking at.
