Default check engine cylinder 8 misfire

So, i'm getting a code for my 99 Dodge Ram 1500 rwd 5.2L. It is a cylinder 8 misfire. When I use to fill allll the way up was when it sent it. Now it does it if i'm anywhere above 1/16th (i'm not kidding). I changed fuel infector and it seemed to work. But it's back to it's old ways. Any help? I have eliminated spark plugs and their wires b/c the misses seem to be related to amount of gas. HEEELLPP please!!

Pull plug #8 and post up photo. Also, remove TB and look inside intake. Bet there is oil pooling in there. Then go to the "End all be all plenum" thread in FAQ/DIY section. Order plate on e-bay - cheaper than Hughes.

I thought it was that (longshot). Yeah, my gen is known for those flimsy plenums. My truck buena oil and occasionally (like once every 3 or so Weeks) pings. So it definitely displays the common signs for the plenum and gaskets being warped. Happen to you?

Will happen to all eventually. Design flaw. I'm just waiting for mine to give out. Luckily mine is just an occasional weekend hauler. I put maybe 100 miles a week on it.

Yep. I already did the tranny (rebuilt). I'll pull the spark plug probably tomorrow and figure out how to upload it for you.

Fixing it is not as bad a job as you may think...once you get a broken intake bolt or two taken care of. Also replace the timing set with double roller chain (about $50) and water pump and tsat while you have these off anyway. You'll be money ahead and keep from going back for those things later.

A member here on DF sells the plenum plate on e-bay. Ooops. looks like he does not have anything available.

Try HERE.
