Very well could be if your tires are larger than factory. I run 33" tires with 3.92 gears, my effective ratio is 3.46 just under factory specs.

WTF?
My tires are bigger than your's.
Are your wheels 16" or 17"? I wonder if that could be the difference? I'm only running 265/70/17s.

Best bet is to actually measure your tire. The tire manufacturers seem to just pick a number out of the air. 33's are usually a little smaller depending on the brand.
Wheel size won't make any difference on overall gear ratio, just tire OD.

Isnt that what most people run? I know its not optimal, but its a whole lot better than running them on 3.21s (have to be dumb to do that) or even 32s on 3.21s. Im thinking I might go with small tires though, cause with 29" tires, 3.55s is approximately equivilant to 3.92s and 32s

265's are about 31". Had those on my 98 and it was a dog. OD really sucked.

I can agree with that. But once I removed the clogged catalytic converter the dog went away

Much more response now.

I had a Magnaflow cat on it, that redneckram now has on his truck. And of course the plenum was fixed also.

Says I should get 4.22's, so 4.10's or 4.56's, but I still think I'm gonna go to 4.88's....
