So the transmission went out... Wanna hear your tranny failure stories!
Until you forget.
Im 27 and had my first knee and shoulder surgery when I was 14. Played ice hockey from age 12-19, and I now have 2 bad shoulders and 2 bad kness.
Now back to topic. I was towing a 7k load on a 200 mile trip and had no problems getting there or back, but I did notice it was a lil sluggish in 3rd gear and my gas mileage was ****ty. The next morning I went to drive to work when it dawned on me that I had no 3rd gear and was skipping from 2nd straight to third. By the time I got to the transmission shop I no longer had 1st gear. Got a rebuild and drove it for about 6 months then got t-boned ripping the tranny apart.

When I was a kid I fragged a 727 in my charger. Had the little 318 in it at the time. Basically my mind disconnected from the commen sense module and I performed a nuetral drop. At like 4 grand. In my mind's eye I was going to leave one nasty burn out. In reality I left one nasty puddle of tranny fluid.
I lost all fowrad gears and only reverse would hold any power. I had to drive a few miles in revers to my dads tow truck company. Had a huge helping of crow with that one and learned all about a tranny swap as I was the wrench monkey under direction from the pros. Never did that one again, so perhaps the dumb stunts sober thing holds true

It was not the transmissions fault. It had well over a 100k on the odometer and a meat head at the controls. Put in a rebuilt 400 in the car with the same kind of trans and it survived burn outs and donuts like a champ. The drop into drive was just an **** move on my part.
Flywheel effect doesn't care how the energy got there. Torque converters die screaming when you subject them to that kind of overpressure.
