sound like he does. if the power does not have to travel as far you can get away with using a thinner wire. personally i like having my heads and reverse lights on relays. i just have to put my 93's headlight and my 81's backup lights on relays and then i think i will be happy with most of the wiring for now. i am surprised by 2001 they did not come from the factory with headlights on relays. i know caravans were running high and low beam relays since 96 and they may have been running a relay on the low beam circuit for who knows how many years before that.

Yes, the LMC Truck kit, and I've no complaints. The power conductors are AWG12 and so quite sufficient.

I think I will be doing this with both my trucks soon. Seems like a good idea in every aspect.

it is. on your 93 i would go 1 step farther and use a 3rd relay or a diode to turn the low beams on while the high beams are on. the only thing stopping me from doing that on my 81 is the 65 amp alternator. having the headlights drawing about 20 amps don't leave a lot for the rest of the stuff that needs to be run when you got the small 65 amp alternator. the 120 amp one you got should be more than able to power it.
heres a diy that should be the same as your 93. it would also work for other truck but your would have to change what plug you used.

Hmmm. I guess they've revised it since those forum posts have been made. (on other forums)

How was the install? Too hard? I really don't want to totally hack up my factory headlight wiring, for OBVIOUS reasons.

Other than the difficulty of reaching in to the driver's side headlight, it was a cinch. And no hacking of the factory harness at all -- the kit just plugs into it on the driver's side for relay control.

Oh yeah: The kit comes with some punkass lookin' yellow sleeving more or less but not fully protecting the conductors. I hacked that crap off and replaced it with split flex conduit for better protection.

no but if you can apply power to your headlights while they are already on you will see the difference. it is hard to get a before and after shot of headlight that can actually show the difference which is why i showed pics of the backup lights. left and right backup lights are identical on my ramcharger other than 1 getting more power than the other.

now another reason you want to upgrade is so you don't kill the stock switches and headlight wiring.
