In your opinion, what is actually worth replacing and/or upgrading to these trucks. There are tons of mods that people do everyday that may or may not actually benefit them.

So, in your opinion what is actually worth doing? Considering money, time spent modding, benefit, and everything?

Don't turn it into a pissing contest, although that would be entertaining.

Hard to argue with those, however those are the most expensive and only suspensions are really messed with regularly. Gears are often put in the cold.

In fact, most of the local "rednecks" tell me that gears are overrated and for me to stop telling them to change there's.

I actually wish I had a 2500, I like the beefiness.

Compared to other 1500s, a Dodge 1500 might as well be a 2500

Depends on what you want to do with your truck....are you into hardcore offroading? Street racing? Show and shine? Thumping stereo? It all depends on what you want really. Decide first what you want out of your truck.

I just look at it as eliminating the weak spots.

More this. I use my truck as I see fit, and I like to think I do a lot more research than the typical owner before they go chopping cats off and spending hundreds on an air intake.

I'm not really looking for suggestions, just wanted to see what you guys actually consider useful and worthwhile mods/repairs/fixes/fun things.

There are actually some relatively cheap things that you can do to your tranny to make it last longer and eliminate one major weak spot. Doing the plenum fix is another good one. For the trans, delete that cursed check valve by the radiator and look at upgrading the pan size, cooler, and maybe a shift kit (transgo/fairbanks). I put tranny and engine upgrades as first priority for my truck, suspension comes second. Gears are nice if you have the cash but i already have the 4.10s from factory...
