Dlyter09, why did you create another dodgeforum account? Was it so that everyone would think you're not the only one who breakes tcases off the back of transmissions every 4 months? You're not fooling anyone.

Now that's a marvel of engineering, right there. Transfer case failure leads to automatic removal, thus saving labor. Schweet!Originally Posted by monsterpaint2

[/IMG]Mine was held in by the shifting linkage on the cross member... Since it snapped off the tranny and cracked the casing to the overdrive unit on the tail of the tranny i dropped it and took it to my dad's tranny guy and he checked out the tranny and replaced the OD unit. He said the OD unit's internals had spun and were out of place.

I really dont think there is any amount of "maintenance" that could prevent this...Originally Posted by kyledon
Regular check ups and maintenance is super important especially for trucks that get a lot of use or are a couple of years old. Money spent on quality maintenance saves thousands in repairs. I am glad it worked out well in the end though.
I heard a squeak that I thought was ball joints and looked and my ball joints are bad and never thought twice about it and now that i broke a u-joint and caused all this damage the squeak is gone lol so now I know what it was but I still have to do ball joints now
