Default Sport Headlights - What's the difference?

I have a 98 Sport, and often see reference to the Sport headlights being different to the other model variations.

What is the difference in the Sport model that differentiates it from the others, and not allowing interchangeability of headlights?

They are a dual light setup compared to a single bulb

Different bulbs with different filament orientations and so different reflectors behind them. The Sport has 9007's in it, which throw more light than the 9004's in the non-Sport models. So just be happy that you got upgraded right from the factory!

I've yet to physically check mine but the owners manual calls for a 9004. Guess they just printed the one manual? It's crazy though that they would use a different bulb for one trim package especially considering the housings look the same _shrug_

I think starting in 98 the housings are different. The sport has a clear lens with dual bulbs and the slt has fluted lens with single bulbs.

EDIT Make that 1999.

^Wrong.
94-98 models the Sports are the same as the ST/SLT. In 1999 like Jimy said, the changed up the front ends and started the Quad-Beam design with the clear corners and dual bulbs in the main housing.
