A really nice dude that you know really well and are good friends with, would want his work to be good for you! Unless you don't know him as well as you thought, and he wasn't so nice, and he was a jerk.

Take it back to him and talk about it and see if he can figure out what he missed!

Yes. The passenger side u-joint was replaced about a year ago. When the mechanic was working on the axle, he checked everything like ujoints, wheelbearings, stuff like that and said they were all good. And i will have to check that. lol

UPDATE: The noise and vibrations are even worse now. Almost to the way it was before it was fixed. It is soooo annoying! I jacked up the front end and turned the wheels and spun the driver side wheel really fast and there was a fast clicking sound and a sound like the ujoint was bad and a terrible deep sounding squeek. I checked the u joints and believe it or not, the opposite one was bad and we replaced it a year ago! The drivers side on does have a little bit of play in it but not as bad as the passenger one. Also when i was going through town, i put it in 4X4 and everything tightened up and it rode better and the issue went away. The minute i took it out of 4X4, it came back. HELP!!

Sounds like intermediate shaft bearing or the collar not disengaged all the way or the bushing in the intermediate shaft or something.

4 wheel drive still works. Now when i hit a bump and it has its fit, it sounds like i am dragging a chain behind me. I swear my truck is possessed. :/

Well the problem is now gone. I took it to a front end mechanic about 3 months ago and he looked at it and said "hey, are you aware that there is no oil in your front differential"?? So the mechanic i have been talking about changed the front diff. gasket a while back and i guess he didnt put and gear oil in it!!! So i filled it up with gear oil and now the headaches are gone.

3 months with no oil, I would be replacing the spider and side gears asap before they go south.
