Default Confused + transmission issue

Alright so this is my first post here, but I've constantly viewed this forum to help solve my issues and or questions.

I have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 1/2ton 2wd with 2 check engine codes; shift selenoid a and govenor pressure plate. Now here's the confusion part, the transmission is from a 2000, but the govenor transducer (black plug) was removed and a selenoid from a 1999 replaced it. Is that technically fine or should I get that black plastic plug? Also the with the shift selenoid a, can anyone direct me to a decent place to get it cheap?

Thanks in advance,
Patrick

What codes are you getting?

Your transmission doesn't have a shift solenoid A......

P1762 Gov Press Sens Offset Volts Too Low or Hi

P1764 Governor Press Sens Volts Too Low

Check connector on side of transmission. May be loose or dirty. Worse case, may need to replace Gov Press sensor.
