Individually, americans can be pretty smart cookies. Collectively though? We got nothin' on a box of rocks. We keep electing the same politicians to office, and then we wonder why things aren't getting any better. We keep trying the same old tired formulas to 'stimulate the economy', when they have NEVER worked in the past. We seem to think that american values can be impressed upon people at gun point. We also seem to think we can buy off people that hate us, and they will become our friends. We borrow money from a country that was once our mortal enemy, and then give it away to yet more of our enemies. Our government has been bought and paid for by the big-money lobbies. None of the folks in Washington are doing 'what's best for the country', they are doing what is best for THEM, and keeping their buds happy that crank out the millions of dollars that get them re-elected, so they can keep their cushy jobs, with more perks and benefits than ANYTHING you will find in the private sector. (aside from CEO positions....) Criminals have more rights than victims. Parents can't discipline their children without pissing off some governmental organization or other, and said organization has the power to take your kids, and then you get to fight in court to get them back. A process that can take YEARS. Our government spends money like there is no tomorrow..... well guess what boys, tomorrow is coming, and when it does, and you all are caught with your pants down, who is going to get the stinky end of the stick? The american people.

I could go on for pages. I have very little faith that the america that we once knew is ever going to come back. Seems the american people like to raise a lot of verbal hate and discontent about things as they are, but, it's not like we can actually DO anything about it. Your vote counts about as much as a fart in the wind, as the folks with money are the ones that decide who runs for office, and in the end, who wins as well.

We. Are. F**KED.

We are headed for a major collapse, many folks see it coming, probably even some in Washington. Will they do anything to change course though? Nope. Notta chance.

What we need is common sense (an oxymoron, as it OBVIOUSLY isn't so common...) in government. I don't hold out any hope for that either.....

Vote HeyYou for President in 2016!!

Well said HeyYou. I feel the same way. However, I don't agree with "...many folks see this coming" I think many DON'T see this coming....at least here in NJ.
Anyway, you have my vote.

Theres a place in Ca. (I think) that you can buy an 80% ar lower for about $300. They sell a jig for $125. The jig is used to mill out the trigger group area (the 20%) on a standard drill press. Now doing it this way it is "homemade" and supposedly according to the ATF is legal as long as it isnt sold. Therefore no need for a serial number.

Do this and buy a parts kit, upper, etc. and you now have a supposed "legal" ar that you can never sell.

You can sell it if it's serialized. You can't build them for the purpose of selling, however.

That's spendy. Billet Rifle systems has the lowers and jigs for $180 and $91 respectively. They were $150/$85 before the panic. http://billet80.com/index.php?route=common/home

Yee Haa. Someone is getting serious with the anti-gun crowd.

Wonder when/if government is going to figure out that banning/regulating something does NOT make it magically disappear, nor does it reduce crime.

Well...it didn't work with prohibition...it helped made things what they are today. And when tommy guns were banned, guess who had them?

Henry Ford stated that those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
