I have a broke tape player, so I can't help. Sorry

Might might be interested in what the others have to say though.

I have a pioneer in dash DVD/GPS nav deck. works good. had it several years now and its been holding up just fine.

wouldn't suggest off road racing with the screen out, but occasional hard bumps don't seem to phase it.

A friend has this in his truck (I think its a model older), and it sucks. Not sure if the model your looking at is any better/worse. The problem with it is the touchscreen is very uncalibrated and theres no way to fix it. You can click "play" on the screen, but because its so uncalibrated it thinks you clicked something on the other side of the screen. Or you click on one song and it selects a different one.

Its also much harder to navigate thru menu options/select music when the truck is going down the road because every little bump throws your hand off and you end up clicking something you didn't mean to. Not sure if anyone else has this problem...

As far as video playback, it worked perfectly fine. Although I dont find it too entertaining watching videos on an 8 inch screen when i can use a laptop or tv. But a GPS feature seems intriguing.

I just know I find it much easier to use a regular deck and my iphone.

I have a Kenwood CD/Stereo inot with removable faceplate, and front aux (use it for XM radio) and USB port. Same rig in my RV and at some point, probably toss one in Yota.

so I don't know about his deck, or this touch screen calibration issue with the deck you pointed out, but on my pioneer deck there are no touch screen calibration issues...what you push is what you get. very accurate.

forgot pros and cons (for a pioneer navi deck, not for THAT deck, though im sure some of the pros/cons will be the same for both)

pros:
*single din, no custom dash work required.
* hides itself so thieves don't see a big flashy screen when you have it parked somewhere
* aux inputs
* in dash GPS navigation
* GPS volume separate from music volume. will also mute music while giving voice directions and resume music volume after voice direction has been given.
* back up camera ready* (does not come with said backup camera though)

cons:
* blocks 2 air vents on the dash when the screen is out.
* costs money to update navigation software
* more susceptible to alternator noise than non-navigation decks
* screen brightness does not dim...it does go into night mode and changes the color contrasts to darker colors (black or dark colored background vs day mode with white or light colored backgrounds)
* does not come with a backup camera

Great input! Thanks fellas. Keep them coming please.

I don't have any one in particular set on. Just the type of deck.

Jiga -- you going to add a backup camera? What is the hookup, rca?

it would be a wired hookup, and it is not RCA...its some proprietary plug for pioneer decks only...the brain unit under the seat is where the camera plugs in to.

I have no plans on adding a backup camera to it..

probably upgrade the whole unit some day in the future since they discontinued map support for my model...newest maps out for it are 2010 and I got it in 2009...(it was a clearance older model)

so I have the 2010 map dvd's but I can't get maps newer than that...so an new roads built I will be SOL on lol...

I wish google would just team up with one of the navigation deck companies to get google maps on there that I can update more than once a year, and for free with..

I have no desire for satellite radio though, so couldn't care less if it had it or not... I don't even use regular radio... I hook my android phone to the aux jack and use internet radio like pandora, or tunein to listen to tom leykis lol..
